Visual Analytics Intern
OverviewThe candidate hired for this position will work with Excel and Tableau on special projects to analyze a large amount of data. This is a part time position.Responsibilities

Analyze a large amount of data using Excel and Tableau (primarily)

Qualifications

  • Excel Intermediate knowledge (required), but Advance knowledge (preferred)
  • Tableau Intermediate knowledge (required)
  • Must be familiar with vlookup, hlookup, sumif, pivot tables, charting, graphing and index/match formulas conditional formatting, data validation rules, table manipulation, named ranges, creating and modifying connections to external data sources, workbook / worksheet / cell data protection.
  • Must be familiar with Tableau versions 10x and 2018.x
  • College junior and seniors are welcome to apply
  • Knowledge of Finance would be preferred (but not required)

Data Analyst

Analysts practice in Pittsburgh to work in teams and directly with our clients. When you join VISIMO as a Data Analyst (DA), you are joining a firm that will challenge you and invest in your professional development. In this role you will work on the best teams to help the best small businesses in the mid-Atlantic United States – in private, public, and social sectors – solve their most difficult problems. You will also work with many experts, from data scientists and researchers to software and app designers.

You’ll work in teams of typically 1-3 consultants, playing an active role in all aspects of the client engagement. This includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You’ll also have the opportunity to present results to client management and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or master’s degree or have 1 – 3 years of work experience after completing your undergraduate degree
  • Outstanding record of academic achievement
  • Demonstrated aptitude for analytics
  • Intermediate skill level in Excel and Tableau
  • Skills in analytical toolset packages such as SPSS are a plus
  • Proven record of leadership in a work setting and/or through extracurricular activities
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively – both verbally and in writing

Consultant

You’ll be based out of our Pittsburgh office. Consultants join our practice to work in teams and directly with our clients.

When you join VISIMO as a Consultant, you are joining a firm that will challenge you and invest in your professional development. In this role you will work on the best teams to help the best small businesses in the mid-Atlantic United States – in private, public, and social sectors – solve their most difficult problems.

You’ll work in teams of typically 1-3 consultants, playing an active role in all aspects of client engagement. This includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. You’ll also have the opportunity to present results to client management and implement recommendations in collaboration with client team members.

Consultants receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues on their teams. This support includes a Partner assigned to you to help guide your career as well as up to five weeks of formal training in your first two years as an Consultant. Additionally, you’ll receive guidance and support from your local office or practice in the selection of client projects, helping you to develop your skills and build your network.

While all consultants develop specialized knowledge and a focused program as they progress with VISIMO, most are initially very broad in their focus, meaning they do not need specific industry or functional expertise to be successful. For consultants who join VISIMO as experienced professionals, this can mean building on previous knowledge or developing unique experience in an area that is completely new.

Engagement Manager

You’ll be based out of our Pittsburgh office. Engagement Managers join our practice to work in teams and directly with our clients.

When you join VISIMO as an Engagement Manager, you are joining a firm that will challenge you and invest in your professional development. In this role you will work on the best teams to help the best small businesses in the mid-Atlantic United States – in private, public, and social sectors – solve their most difficult problems.

You will typically lead a team of 1 – 3 consultants to help clients achieve new performance highs.

You will lead the day to day execution of a client project while guiding and developing individual team members. You’ll work directly with clients – usually on site – and you’ll take ownership of the overall project and its end products. You will make an important contribution to the analysis, design, and implementation of business performance approaches, developing tailor-made solutions and working closely with clients to ensure positive impact and sustainable results.

You will have the opportunity to build on your proven leadership skills and leverage your interest in inspiring others, building strong relationships, and creating a true followership. In a collaborative team setting, you’ll work closely with others but also autonomously with little direction. Your superior analytical, quantitative and conceptual thinking skills and strong interpersonal and communication skills will ensure successful client projects and team performance.

Client project work typically includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing recommendations for presentation to client management. From there, you will implement those recommendations with client team members.

You’ll also gain new skills and build on the strengths you bring to the firm. Consultants receive exceptional training as well as frequent coaching and mentoring from colleagues and senior leaders on their teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university with consistent outstanding academic record; Advanced degree or MBA is preferred
  • 8+ years of business management or consulting experience in a reputed company
  • Proven record of high performance and substantial achievements in your past positions
  • Deep expertise in industries such as financial services, high-tech, telecommunications, manufacturing, energy, retail, pharmaceuticals, or travel and logistics
  • Solid functional knowledge, including but not limited to strategy, business development, manufacturing, supply chain, product
  • development, project management, marketing and sales, etc.
  • Outstanding records of academic and managerial or professional achievement
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem solving skills
  • Advanced skill level in Excel and Tableau
